I met Vanessa and Jesse a few weeks ago for my first attempt at a full shoot in my new studio and I'm happy to say that it went well despite somewhat cramped quarters. I had a great time working with these two and love the photos we created together - and for these reasons I'm really, really sad that we met just before they were moving home to Montana and won't get to meet their new baby! Thankfully Vanessa assured me she will send photos when he or she arrives... not quite the same but I suppose it will have to do : )

Oh Dang! They've Grown Again!
With the recent addition of client archives to my website, I've been on a bit of a walk down memory lane as I upload five years of clients' images! While uploading the files from previous shoots with Dana and Mike and their family, I noticed that with every shoot we've done together they've added one child to the mix! I thought it would be fun to bring forth some of those archived shots to show the family's growth over the past four years...
At Washington Park Arboretum in October 2006... I had already done two shoots with Dana and Caleb prior to this one when I finally got to meet Mike!
The family in July 2007- not long after they'd brought home Matthew from a Vietnamese orphanage! At this shoot Dana divulged they were expecting another...
and at our next shoot in September 2008 I met sweet baby Kristina!
And just a few weeks ago, I joined the family at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island and met the latest addition to the family- four-month-old baby Hudson!
Here is another from our first family shoot in October 2006... Dana assures me they have no plans of adding another to the clan but this photo has me wondering who I might meet next time I see them : )
I've created a little slideshow to share a few more photos from our most recent shoot together... please enjoy!

Meet My New Friend Adalyn
My blog entries are going to be short & sweet for awhile… I’m so busy catching up on editing that I don’t have time to write much. BUT I still have a bunch of cute photos to share and they’re what matters most, right?
Here are some photos from my first shoot with my new friend Adalyn. After scouring through the websites of every photographer in town, Addy’s mom Denise decided I was the girl for them and purchased a First Year package… which means I’ll be seeing lots of this darling little babe in the coming months. What an honor…hooray for me!
This is how we know it’s time to put away the camera : )

Darling Ava
I first met my little friend Ava last year when she was about six months old. Since then her family has moved to Idaho so I haven't seen her since our first photo shoot, but her mama Amber got in touch with me a few weeks ago when they were planning a trip to Bellingham and I was able to work them into my schedule. I was really excited to see Ava again because she was such a photogenic baby that I used a lot of her photos for marketing purposes and got a ton of compliments on them!We met at Cornwall Park in the evening, and Ava wasn't quite sure what to think of me and my camera at first. I was having a hard time getting a smile out of her until my son Asher surprised us at the park. I intended to send him on his way so I could work, but I soon realized Ava must have a thing for handsome older boys because suddenly she was all big eyes and smiles for Ash, so I made him stay : ) Here are a few shots from our evening together!

Mama Amber is expecting the family's second child this summer so I took her aside for a few minutes to capture her and her burgeoning belly. She and Zach have decided not to learn the gender of the baby but I'm usually a pretty good judge of these things and was getting very strong "boy vibes" the entire time we were together. If that's not a boy in there, I am going to be shocked!
What a cute family they are ... I hope they return to Bellingham again before long so I can capture their new addition as well!
I thought I would also share a few photos from our first shoot together, when Ava was just a wee little one...

Baby Joaquim Discovers Spring
One of the reasons I prefer shooting outdoors with my clients is because I really love documenting the expressions that occur when a little one discovers something new in the natural world. It's especially fun with babies who are experiencing everything for the first time! Little Joaquim was born in mid-September so both of our previous shoots have been done indoors and I was very anxious to get my little buddy outside. With its beautiful field of wild narcissus in mind, I knew Woodstock Farm was just the place for Joaquim's spring photo shoot. The ground was a little wet with morning dew but we plopped this boy down in the flowers and let him get on with checking things out...

Of course getting the pretty yellow petals into his mouth was Joaquim's primary goal...

We don't usually do a lot of posed family shots like this but I made Mark & Hedy try one this time. How cute are they? What a happy family : )

I really love shooting at Woodstock Farm because it offers such a variety of backdrops for photos. You wouldn't think these photos were all taken at the same place!

I saved my favorite shot for last.... I LOVE Joaquim's smile and I am so glad I got one more shoot with him before his first tooth broke through!
You can see Joaquim's photos from previous shoots here and here!
