No Worries At All...

When I had Amy and Patrick sign model releases at the end of our shoot last month, Amy said I was free to use their photos on my blog "as long as you don't call us the worst family ever!" Ha! It was a cold morning just after Thanksgiving and unfortunately their little boys, Jack & Griffin, left the shoot in tears - a situation I try to avoid at all costs! I think Amy was afraid the shoot was a total loss, but I assured her I deal with all sorts of challenges from children and this was definitely not the toughest I'd faced by any stretch of the imagination. (In fact the worst behaved person I ever photographed was actually an adult, but that is another story!) I always remind my clients that even given tough challenges on shoot day, I am still doing a job that I love and feel blessed to be doing.

As you can see, our shoot was far from a total loss! After she'd viewed them in her  family archive, I received an email from Amy saying I have new clients, assuming I'd have them, and a promise to be better behaved next time. Again I say ha! Of course I'm thrilled to have this adorable family as new clients and look forward to working with them again in the future no matter the challenges they throw at me. I say "bring it, boys!"

What A Difference A Year Makes!

Christmas 2010 finds things looking a whole lot different around here than they did last year! Little did I know when I posted last year's Christmas greeting that I would soon be meeting my sweetheart Chris... or that he'd be turning my quiet little world on its ear by bringing along three boys of his own! Needless to say this Christmas has been unlike any other I've experienced in the past : ) I thought it would be fun to share a few photos I took at home over the past few days...

Asher (15) - Austin (4) - Dylan (11) - Connor (9)

Our first Christmas tree... Chris and I fetched it from U.S. Forest Service land near the base of Mount Baker - via snowmobile!

Together we've created the invinceable (Hein)Rich-Hart(man) Team! A lot more names under the tree this year ...

I had wits enough last night to dash outside for a moment and capture a shot of  our house and the courtyard on Christmas Eve. The building in the background is the office & studio Chris has been renovating for me since August. The interior is *this* close to being complete and I am so excited to move in!

Wishing each and every one of you a wonderful Christmas!

Ryder On The Docks!

I was so excited when Ryder's mama Julie contacted me to schedule his four year old photos. She suggested we do the shoot at the harbor in Blaine where her family has owned property and operated businesses for generations. Just as Ryder is now, Julie spent her childhood exploring and playing around the gritty docks making this a very important place to document! I think Ryder is really going to love  these photos of himself introducing me to the wonders of his little world when he is older!

New Favorites Autumn 2010

After posting today's blog flashback on Facebook I thought I'd take a few minutes to gather some of my favorite shots from shoots I've done this autumn. Enjoy!
